Lace up for Kent's carers
Whether you're training for your first 5k or stepping up to the London Marathon, a sponsored run is one of the most rewarding ways to support us. Every mile you run helps provide respite, counselling, and support to carers who spend most of their time caring for someone else.
Popular runs our supporters take on
- Local parkruns and 5ks around Kent
- Half marathons in Canterbury, Maidstone, Ashford and London
- London Marathon and other big-city marathons
- Sponsored walks and obstacle course events (Tough Mudder, Spartan, Colour Run)
If you already have a place in a run, you can choose to fundraise for us. If you're looking for a race to sign up to, get in touch — we're happy to help you find one.

What we'll do to help

- Branded materials to help you stand out on the day
- Promotion on our website and social media
- Impact updates so you can see what your money achieves
- A huge thank you when you cross that finish line
Tips for hitting your target
- Set a realistic but ambitious goal — people give more when there's a clear target to reach
- Make the first donation yourself — it gets momentum going and encourages others
- Tell your personal story — why are you running for carers? People connect with real reasons
- Send reminder messages at key milestones — when you hit 50%, the week before the event, and on the day itself
- Thank every donor publicly — gratitude encourages others to give
- Update your page with training photos — supporters love seeing the journey, not just the finish
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have a place in a race already? No — if you're still deciding, get in touch and we can help you find an event. We sometimes have charity places in larger races.
Is there a minimum amount I need to raise? Not at all. Every penny counts. Whether you raise £50 or £5,000, we're grateful.
Can I run as part of a team? Absolutely. Teams and relay entries are a great way to share the effort and multiply the fundraising. Each person can have their own page linked to Crossroads Care Kent.
What happens to the money after the event? JustGiving transfers funds to us automatically. If you've collected cash or cheques, just get in touch and we'll arrange the transfer. We'll send you a thank you and an impact update showing what your money achieved.
Ready to run for us? Set up your JustGiving page or email our fundraising team and we'll help you get started.
